What a Bike Frame Respray Involves
A full frame respray is more than a coat of paint. We strip the frame back, mechanically key or sand the surface, correct any dings and stone rash, prime, apply colour-matched basecoat in thin even passes, then finish with clear lacquer. The result is a factory-grade finish that's smooth, uniform and holds up to normal riding, cleaning and mounting components.
Wet Spray vs Industrial Powder Coating
Powder coating is the cheap route — £40–£145 at an industrial coater — but the finish is thick and slightly textured, and the powder has to be baked on in an oven. That oven heat is a problem for carbon fibre, bonded aluminium joints, sealed bearings and every part of an e-bike's electronics. It's why most reputable carbon and e-bike specialists refuse to powder coat.
We do automotive wet spray — the same process used on cars. It cures at low temperature, so it's safe on carbon and e-bikes, and the finish is thinner, glossier and truly colour-matched. Any car colour code, any custom colour, any pearl or metallic — we can mix it and lay it down.

Our Process
Send a few clear WhatsApp photos of the frame to 07572 114436 — the whole frame, close-ups of any damage, and the colour or reference you'd like. We reply with a free written quote, usually the same day. Once you're happy, we arrange collection from home or work anywhere within 25 miles of Tiverton, or you can drop off at the workshop.
In the workshop we strip components, mask or remove any electronics and bearings, prep the frame back to a sound surface, prime, wet spray your chosen colour, and finish with lacquer. Decals and logos can be re-created if you want the original look kept. We then reassemble what we removed and return the frame to you.
